    • Abstract:
      The article reports on the green initiatives made by steel and aluminum producers to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the U.S. in 2011. It highlights the 35 percent reduction of the domestic steel industry's greenhouse gas emissions and 30 percent increase of its energy efficiency since 1990. Furthermore, it notes the more than 80 percent reduction of the aluminum industry's primary production and 17 percent more of its energy efficiency since 1992.
