      The article discusses the importance to human resources (HR) executives of using data to create value, and presents several successful examples. Financial-services firm PNC Financial Services used HR analytics to determine that employees hired from outside the company did not perform as well as those promoted from within. Internet-search firm Google Inc. has a system in place for re-evaluating job candidates who were originally rejected. Google has also used HR analytics to identify several behaviors characteristic of good managers.
