      The article focuses on the increasing rates of autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis. It cites some of the suspected causes of autism that researchers are examining including prenatal exposure to misoprostol, organophospide insecticides and phthalates. It also discusses a study which demonstrates that a mother who is living close to a major highway has a higher chance of having a child with an ASD diagnosis.
