    • Abstract:
This article discusses kitchen appliances, tools, and accessories in light of the amount of time people spend cooking in their own kitchens in the early 21st century. The author discusses the market for high-end, luxury kitchen products such as knives, mixers from appliance company KitchenAid, and cooking devices from high-end retailers such as Williams-Sonoma. She compares the emphasis on gourmet cooking, celebrity chefs, and luxury kitchen items to the kitchen supplies of her grandmother.
