- Abstract:
The article addresses the potential of India in protecting the environment through the struggle of Indian broker Jairam Ramesh against the construction of a steel plant by Posco in eastern India. Ramesh mentions that livelihood environmentalism must be imposed in India, wherein the concept seeks to keep natural areas for the benefit of tribal groups and agricultural workers to improve the Indian economy while preserving the environment. Ramesh seeks to limit Indian carbon output by drafting laws like a sustainable building code.
