- Abstract:
Information on Winnebago, a tribe which has lived in North America for centuries, is presented. The tribe, also known as Ho-Chunk, migrated from northwest Kentucky to Wisconsin around A.D. 500. The U.S. government took control of the state in 1832 after defeating the Winnebagos in the Black Hawk War and they started moving to reservations.
