The article focuses on Mike Davis, Executive Director of the U.S. Golf Association (USGA). The difficult role Davis will face as administrator of an organization governed by part-time officials is examined. It is noted that Davis will continue with his former assignment for the USGA of preparing the golf courses for USGA tournaments such as the U.S. Open.
