      A reprint of the article "Financial Imaginaries: Toward a Philosophy of the City," by Reinhold Martin, that was first presented at the Workshop on Global Cities held in Göttingen, Germany in 2009, is provided. It focuses on the financial imaginaries of globalization in the context of a city at a philosophical level. It discusses how the cities of Mumbai in India and New York serve as a typical example of these imaginaries. The author notes the need for a properly critical philosophy of the city to understand the changes the city has undergone.
