      The article discusses the similarities and differences in the feminist Fourth Cinema aesthetic as it responds to the Griersonian tradition. It draws examples from Alanis Obomsawin's films such as "Incident at Restigouche," "Kanehsatake: 270 Years of Resistance," and "Our Nationhood," and Loretta Todd's works like "The Learning Path," "Hands of History," and "Forgotten Warriors." It notes that Obomsawin and Todd stretched the boundaries of documentary form imagined by John Grierson for National Film Board and forged a path for other Indigenous filmmakers.
