    • Abstract:
The article attempts to explain the seeming absence of God in the face of tragedies and disasters. The author proposes that great humility is required from those who try to answer how God works in situations like the Virginia Tech shooting which killed 32 people in April 2007. He notes the need for people to engage God in a personal and continuous manner in order to understand how to cope with suffering in this world. The author believes that in Jesus, God reminds us how to live in a real relationship with Him despite tragedies or failings.
