The article presents a study on the spatial distribution of feline immunodeficiency virus infection (FIV)-positive individuals among Tsushima leopard cats and domestic cats using a geographic information system. FIV screening surveys conducted by the Kyushu Veterinary Union and collaborators in Japan among leopard cats and captive domestic cats were used in the study. It was found that the distribution of FIV-positive domestic cats on Kami-shima Island were concentrated in particular areas. FIV-positive leopard cats were all observed in the high FIV infection risk areas.
