      An interview with U.S. plant ecologist Mark Davis is presented in which he discusses the environmental impact of invasive species, such as garlic mustard. He discusses what he thinks makes a particular species a problem, why he believes scientists have exaggerated the impact of some nonnative species, and the use of the precautionary principle by scientists to prevent the spread of species they deem harmful.
