The ecological, medical-biological, economic, and political consequences of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident, which was unprecedented in scale, have long attracted the close attention of specialists, state and political figures, and the public at large. A substantial volume of various kinds of data has been accumulated, and appropriate programs of activity have been worked out and are being implemented. However, only the first steps have been taken to study the psychological consequences of the Chernobyl disaster (see, for example, [4, 9]). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
