- Abstract:
The article offers information on the policies and health effects related to cadmium content in various consumer products such as children's jewelry. It discusses the decision of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) not to enforce limits on the amount of cadmium in children's products. It cites several human health effects of cadmium intake such as lung cancer and prostate cancer. According to research biologist George Kruzynski, children absorb cadmium readily than adults.
