    • Abstract:
The article explores the discovery of scientist and professor Ed Boyden of using light-emitting diode to control aspects of behavior. Boyden used mouse in his experiment in which he implanted a device which consist of short optical fibers of different lengths, each fixed at one end to a light-emitting diode, in the brain. It notes that the device can control the mouse's behavior and get specific sets of genetically modified neurons to fire.
