The author presents issues and topics of interest to medical professionals in Great Britain as of November 27, 2010. Joseph Wax and colleagues from Maine, and Carl Michal from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of British Columbia, called for the retraction of a 2010 paper in the "American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology" about maternal and newborn safety of planned home versus planned hospital birth.
