    • Abstract:
The article discusses the evaluation, etiology, treatment and prevention of ptosis after ocular surgery. It reveals that ptosis which resolves after surgery is considered transient or acute ptosis and ptosis that persists after surgery is categorized as chronic or persistent. It also notes that transient ptosis can be caused by eyelid edema, hematoma formation, foreign body reaction, ocular inflammation and anesthesia effects, while persistent ptosis involves damage to the levator aponeurosis.
