    • Abstract:
      The article describes the case of a barrel race horse named Spooky owned by Sheridan and Robin Cummings who had pleuropneumonia during a road trip to Texas in December 2007. Sheridan noticed that Spooky was unusually sluggish a day after the horses were left on a trailer in the midst of a storm . They were ordered by veterinarian Robbin Johnson to bring Spooky to a clinic after he noticed that its gums turned blue. A thoractomy was done as draining the chest fluids and antibiotics were not enough to treat Spooky.
