      The article focuses on the architectural history of the Belgian welfare state from 1950s to 1970s. It states that the Belgian welfare state came about as a political project at the end of the Second World War (WWII). It discusses the differences of the Social and Catholic pillars which affects the building environment of the monarchy. It also mentions the de-pillarisation of the two pillars on the construction of leisure facilities that gave rise to a multitude of ideology.
