      The article provides a market assessment of the casinos in the U.S. as of 2009. The four general categories of casinos in the U.S. are land-based, dockside, racetrack and tribal casinos with 946 facilities distributed in 38 states. Gross revenue for commercial casinos in 2009 was 30.74 billion U.S. dollars while tribal casino income was 26.8 billion dollars in 2008. The largest casino gaming markets are found in Las Vegas, Nevada, Atlantic City, New Jersey and Chicagoland in the Indiana-Illinois border where dining and concerts are also offered.
