    • Abstract:
The article reports on the entry of engineers and physicists at the Soudan Underground Laboratory to search for the dark matter in Minnesota in 2010. The workers have traveled deep into the Earth to search for the missing material thought to account for 83% of the universe's mass. At Soudan and other underground laboratories, scientists use liquefied noble gas or ultrapure solid crystals to attempt to record the uncommon collision of a weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP).
