- Abstract:
The article reports on the project of neurophysiologist William Grey Walter of Bristol, England, where he is using mechanical turtles to study the workings of the human brain. At first, the turtles were designed simply to seek out electricity that would recharge their batteries by looking for bright light. Walter then added the ability to remember a whistle so that in combination with bright light, it meant food and the turtles would rush towards the source.
