- Abstract:
The article focuses on musical composer Luigi Dallapiccola, who is considered the chief disciple of Arnold Schoenberg's twelve-tone technique. According to Dallapiccola, the public's difficulty with twelve-tone music is not dissonance but is in understanding its series and separate shapes. His opera, titled "Il Prigioniero (The Prisoner)," has been shown at the festival in Florence, Italy in May 1950.
