      The article features the Bellamy to Irish Lake Connectivity Project, a tree-planting and conservation strategy in Ontario launched by Garnet Baker and Dwayne Struthers. The project has planted over 155,000 trees as of June 2010 and is part of the Ministry of Natural Resources' (MNR) 50 Million Tree Program, which began as a carbon sequestration scheme. Tree planting in Ontario, Ontario's fragmented landscape, and issues related to the planting are discussed.
