    • Abstract:
The article offers information on the gathering of 3,500 Reform delegates in Manhattan, New York City to pay tribute to the retiring president of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations (UAHC), Maurice N. Eisendrath. It states that reform leaders attempt to change the strict laws and ritual that had united Jews during 1,600 years of the Diaspora. It notes that American Reform Judaism has started to embrace again some of the long traditions and to pursue in accepting the Zionist ideals. Furthermore, the changes have narrowed the ceremonial disagreement between Reform and Conservative Jews.
