- Abstract:
The article reports on the major alteration of peppered moth in the environment of England. As stated, before the smoke and soot of the burning coal and wood began to blacken the skin of trees, the predominant variety of light-colored peppered moth speckled its wings with lichen-covered tree bark and covered the insects against predatory birds. However it mentions that the cleaner trees help in providing the lighter and safer resting place for any surviving speckled moths.
