- Abstract:
The article focuses on Dadaism and surrealism modern art movements and its principles. It states that with Dadaism and surrealism, more avant-gardes have been formed and that cubist paintings of artist Georges Braque seems to be threatening just like the pastoral scene by Nicolas Poussin. It mentions that Dadaism and surrealism were the last true avant-gardes not for being great artists but because of their belief that art and poetry can alter the objective situations of human's life. According to the declaration of surrealists, they are determined to make a revolution and that surrealism means total liberation of mind. Moreover, surrealism remains one of the best proposals of liberty for the 19th century.
