- Abstract:
The article presents a survey on the culinary scene for Christmas in Jamestown, Virginia in December 1977. It predicts that fewer Americans will celebrate the season with Lake Tung Ting scallops, roasted peacock, or turtle flippers. It notes that home chefs, co-chefs, and apprentices of sauciers learned how to prepare and prize elusive meals. This is considered an economic, social, and aesthetic development for the nation which is traditionally recognized for its beer, T-bone steaks and ice cream.
