      The article reports on the move of Pacific Medical Center (PacMed) to adopt a real-time locating system (RTLS) to improve processes and safety. It is noted that patient and staff locating, customized clinical work flows automated by Versus, and real-time bed management are among the features that are included in PacMed's RTLS. In order to identify current locations and patients and resources, RTLS uses infrared and radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies.
