- Abstract:
The article discusses the war in Afghanistan and the viability of a plan to negotiate with the Taliban and create a unity government. The efforts of U.S. General Stanley McChrystal to build an infrastructure in Afghanistan to support American troop operations is discussed as are military efforts in Marjah in the Helmand Province. The state of politics and government in Afghanistan is considered as are contractors and private security firms, coalition forces, and General David Petraeus.
