      The article features digital artist Tamiko Thiel. Her mother is a Japanese-American, while her father is a German-American. She mainly exhibits her works in the U.S., Japan and Germany. Her works include "The Travels of Mariko Horo," "Virtuelle Mauer/Reconstructing the Wall" and "Beyond Manzanar," which she did in partnership with Iranian-American writer Zara Houshmand. "Virtuelle Mauer" was done in collaboration with artist Teresa Reuter.
