This article presents a list of some books and their authors. Some of the listed them are mentioned here. Workplace Democratization by Paul Bernstein is a very timely book, which should become required reading for all interested in workers' participation and control. Bernstein systematizes the literature in this area in an attempt to distinguish the conditions for successful workplace democracy. The author of The Politics of Change in Zambian Community, George C. Bond spent twenty-two months in a rural Zambian community during the time the country gained its independence. Bond describes the institutional structure of the traditional chiefdom and the local colonial government, and the founding of the local branches of the national parties active after independence. He explores individual and group competition for power. The book, Hard Traveling: Migrant Farm Workers in America by Tony Dunbar and Linda Kravitz, goes beyond the specific problems of migrant workers to focus on the impact of illegal immigration from Mexico, and the U.S. government's policies regarding it. The authors propose new policies, organization of migrant unions, and improved educational and vocational opportunities for migrants.
