    • Abstract:
The article discusses the rights of visual authors under copyright law in the U.S. The rights conferred by a copyright to an author include reproduction of the work, distribution of the work under his terms, and displaying the work publicly. The rights conferred to an author by a copyright can be subdivided and it is through this divisibility of exclusive rights that he earns his living. Under First Amendment Rights, there are limitations to copyright which include the absence of protection for underlying ideas or facts.
