Biography Through a Biographer's Eyes: (Materials from a Round-Table Discussion).

This article presents a discussion between Russian literary scholars and biographers about the reasons for an increase in popularity of the biography genre and the specific issues related to biographical writing, including the relative importance of the author's life and work and the appropriate distance between biographer and subject. The article presents comments from each roundtable participant on the various issues discussed. The participants in the discussion included writer and professor Aleksei Nikolaevich Varlamov and writer and professor Oleg Alekseevich Kling.
