O GÊNERO COMO EMPREGADO PELA INDÚSTRIA CINEMATOGRÁFICA: ONTEM E HOJE.

This work aims to verify whether the contemporary film industry continues to use genre related to as a strategy of the cultural industry, as described by Theodor Adorno, and through which mechanisms this phenomenon takes place. To do so, genre is contextualized within a Frakfurtian view, followed by a comparision between the film industry's practices in the Studio Era and nowadays. At the end, a change on the use of this strategy can be verified through both production economy's and narrative's perspectives. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

O objetivo deste trabalho é verificar em que medida a indústria cinematográfica contemporânea ainda faz uso do gênero (aqui compreendido não no sentido antropológico, relacionado aos sexos) como uma estratégia da indústria cultural, tal como descrito por Theodor Adorno, e através de que dispositivos isto se dá. Para tanto, uma contextualização do gênero sob um viés frankfurtiano é efetuada, seguida de uma comparação entre práticas da indústria cinematográfica na Era dos Estúdios e nos tempos atuais. Nota-se, por fim, uma alteração do emprego desta estratégia, tanto sob o viés da economia da produção quanto pela ótica narrativa. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
