    • Abstract:
The article estimates the spectrum of familial risk of psychopathology in first-degree relatives and children with unabridged DSM-IV bipolar-I disorder (BP-I). Results reveal that morbid risk of BP-I disorder in relatives of BP-I probands rose 4 times over the risk to relatives of control probrands and 3.5 times over the risk of relatives of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder probands. Relatives of children with BO-I disorder had high rates of psychosis and other psychiatric disorders.
