      The article profiles alleged murderer Joran van der Sloot, who confessed on June 7, 2010 to the murder of college student Stephany Flores Ramirez. Van der Sloot is allegedly connected to the May 30, 2005 disappearance of high school graduate Natalee Holloway. Ramirez was found on the floor of the Lima hotel in Peru on June 2, 2010 with a broken neck. After his first arrest in June 2005 for the disappearance of Holloway, van der Sloot traveled to Holland, Thailand and Peru. Alleged charges for extortion and wire frauds are also discussed.
