      The article profiles swine geneticist Rodger Johnson of North Dakota. He has spent over 30 years of teaching animal breeding and researching the genetic components of sow productivity at the at the University of Nebraska. He has acquired a bachelor-of-science degree in animal research at North Dakota State University. His acquisition of an advanced animal breeding course has introduced him to a career in swine genetics and to swine geneticist Irv Omtvedt who becomes his mentor.
