- Abstract:
The article discusses the findings of a study on the mercury content of tuna. It is found out that bigger tunas contain more mercury than the smaller ones, thus, tunas from bluefins have higher mercury content than those from bigeye and yellowfin species. It also cites that restaurant tunas contain more mercury than those from grocery stores and solid-white and chunk-white canned tunas have more mercury than the chunk-light canned ones. Mercury is said to cause heart and nervous system disease.
