- Abstract:
The article discusses poetry in China during the Tang Dynasty. A cultural boom during the period is attributed to the lasting peace and prosperity enjoyed during the era. The three categories of Tang poems include the guti or classical, the gelü and yuefu. The features of the four genres of Tang poems including the pastoral, the frontier, the romantic and realistic are outlined.
