Information about health is a requisite for our health care system. It is presented in a variety of forms and formulations and offered mostly to promote special health products or health-related services. In view of the possibilities of new media such as computers and the internet and with respect to the overwhelming flood of health information, the question arises how to handle such information from a regulatory point of view in order to guarantee truthfulness and quality. In the following paper, four different categories of health information are identified and analyzed with respect to specific problems. Gesundheitsinformationen in zahlreicher Art und Form sind Bestandteil unseres auf bestmögliche Gesundheit angelegten Systems. Durch die Nutzung moderner Medien (Computer, Internet) haben solche Informationen an Art und Umfang stark zugenommen. Es stellt sich daher die Frage, ob Regulierungsmaßnahmen notwendig werden, um Verbraucher in ihrer Wahlfreiheit mit selbstverantwortlichen Entscheidungen zu stützen und sie vor Irreführung oder Täuschung zu bewahren. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden vier verschiedene Kategorien von Gesundheitsinformationen identifiziert und analysiert sowie Maßnahmen zur Qualitätssicherung diskutiert. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
