- Abstract:
The article focuses on the upgrade of the Regional Wasterwater Treatment Plant in Columbia, Missouri. The redevelopment of the facility aims to reduce the ammonia concentrations in its treated effluent which are harmful to the important wildlife habitat in the area. The restoration of the facility will reduce the plant's demand for electricity form nonrenewable resources as well as cut down the truck traffic needed to haul way treated solids for agricultural lands.
