- Abstract:
The article presents the U.S. Supreme Court's decision regarding the challenge to the cotton dust standard. This challenge has been raised after the Occupational Safety and Health Administration decided to reopen the rule-making procedure on the cotton dust and lead exposure standards. The court has ruled that the Occupational Safety and Health Act is part of the national public health law, which aims to improve health and safety conditions in industry. The ruling requires the industries to value protection of workers' health above all other considerations.
