      The article focuses on professor Rebecca Knuth's presentation at the International Library and Information Group (ILIG) International Informal. Knuth explored the reason why people destroy books and libraries. She found out that the pattern of systemic destruction of books and libraries followed the pattern of genocide. She came with the term libricide and presented a broader view on extremism and cultural violence relative to libricide. She explained the implications of continued libricide.
