- Abstract:
The article reports on the use of live-action techniques and computer graphics (CG) tools in the creation of the animated film "The Fantastic Mr. Fox," from Twentieth Century Fox. A stop-motion film was created by animators one or two frames at a time where tiny models are moved into various positions and then filming them. According to visual effects supervisor Tim Ledbury, the work was done on normal, animal and human scales. The challenges in creating stop-motion animation are discussed.
