    • Abstract:
The article discusses personality traits that function as either conversation coolers, which make conversations unpleasant, or warmers, which make them enjoyable. Examples include the critic, who frequently finds fault and thus puts people on guard, versus supportive people who make people comfortable. The disconfirmer rarely acknowledges the value of what others say, while confirmers work to affirm and include people. The egoist expects to be listened to but does not listen to others.
