    • Abstract:
The article presents a study that evaluates the cancer risks associated with computed tomographic (CT) scans in the U.S. in 2007. The study was conducted through the use of risk models provided by the National Research Council which were combined with age and sex-specific scan frequencies. Results showed that about 29,000 future cancers could be associated to CT scans in which the largest constributions were from abdomen and pelvis scans.
