    • Abstract:
      The article reports on the announcement of the City of Toronto to push back the deadline of its 70 percent waste diversion plan in Toronto, Ontario. Geoff Rathbone, general manager of Solid Waste Management Services, states that the city council approved the plan three years ago wherein the deadline for the plan should be by the end of 2010, but it will be pushed back for two years. It cites that the city's current overall diversion rate is about 45 percent and is lower than other cities.
