The article focuses on a study which revealed that bread and cereal could be the top contributors of sodium to a person's diet. It is recommended by dietitian Dave Grotto that people should eat 100% whole grain bread and cereals that contain no more than 150 milligrams (mg) of sodium per serving. Research also suggested that the risk of hypertension is increased, if the person is getting more than 2,300 mg of salt per day.
