    • Abstract:
The article reports that British universities are starting to emulate the U.S. graduate school model to better manage their rapidly increasing research-student populations. Data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency reveals that between 1997 to 2008, the number of postgraduate students in Great Britain increased by 64 percent, from 305, 069 to 501, 135. The University of Bristol has recently created a graduate school of arts and humanities.
